Empowering Gender-Based Violence Survivors
At Heels4Pads, we believe in empowering women to rebuild their lives after the trauma of gender-based violence (GBV). Survivors face numerous challenges, including economic instability, social stigma, and emotional distress. Our initiative focuses on equipping them with the tools and support needed to overcome these barriers and achieve independence.
Reclaiming Independence
Building on our sustainable ‘Heels for Pads’ model, dubbed “The Heels Circle” giving a second life to gently used high heels, we extend our mission by providing GBV survivors with the digital tools and entrepreneurial opportunities they need to rebuild their lives through:Â
Skills Development
By training GBV survivors in digital and entrepreneurial skills tailored to their needs, enabling them to start small businesses or secure jobs to regain financial independence.
1
Psychosocial Support
By creating safe spaces where survivors can access professional counseling, participate in healing sessions, and connect with supportive networks for emotional recovery.
2
Capacity Building
By offering hands-on workshops and mentorship, helping survivors develop leadership and practical skills to overcome challenges and sustain their livelihoods.
3
Why Economic Empowerment is Key
Financial dependency often traps survivors in abusive cycles. By addressing this root cause, we help them break free and rebuild their lives. Economic empowerment not only supports individual recovery but also strengthens communities, creating a ripple effect of resilience and change.

Our Commitment to Change
We are working to extend our support to 25,000 women, including GBV survivors, young mothers, and women living with HIV/AIDS, by 2030. Together, we can make a difference and create a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.m
